Correct Forms of Address for Elected Officials

Letters can be important in influencing action.  Public officials are likely to respond to a written letter.  Letters should be written in a tone that is natural to you.  They may be typed or handwritten.  Keep your letter short and to the point, and only focus on one point in your letter.  Be specific about the action you are seeking and state one or more reasons for your position.  Be concise, direct and factual in your presentation.
